(update 4/27.08) We've got a show coming up in mid-May with a few more to be announced soon... check the shows page for details... Am I repeating myself? ANOTHER weeknight Math Lab show AGAIN at the Continental! True story. ![]() Another weeknight Math Lab show coming up this Wednesday at the Continental! ![]() We're playing a special Fat Tuesday show at SoundPony. I believe there will be alcohol available. ![]() This just in: we're playing this weekend in Tulsa! We'll be at the Continental with Cracker Wagon and Delta Spirit on Sunday the 25th. Sleep off all that turkey this weekend and come see us on Sunday! (For details and linkage, click the pic.) ![]() ![]() Sorry for it. We're slackers. But hey, there's good news on the horizon: we have a gin-u-wine Road Show coming up next month. We'll be joining our friends Klipspringer at the Deli in Norman on November 16th for a little bitta showcase showdown action. A hoot it will be, and a return to form to boot. See you soon. Freals. Meantime, did you hear about the bear attack? This video was taken by the guys from Please Please Please the morning after our show together... Hey folks, we've got TWO SHOWS this coming Saturday, July 14th. First off we're at everyone's favorite indie record store in Tulsa, Under the Mooch, for an in-store performance. Then we're off to everyone's favorite bicycle-themed bar-type establishment, the Sound Pony, for an extra-special show with Klipspringer and Please Please Please. For the real details on both shows, you should really go here. See you somewhere Saturday. We are still here, and hopefully you are too. As always we're writing new material and continuing to improve on the existing kind. We have some shows coming up now - in fact a just-booked one this very week. I strongly suggest you click in approximately this place on your screen for the details, and since both 24 and Lost will be over for the season by then, I strongly suggest you come out and catch the show. It'll help pass the time until the new season of Futurama comes around. ![]() Hey folks, we're officially LESS THAN A WEEK from the Sound Pony show! This is the much-anticipated rescheduling of the much-anticipated January show that got snowed right off the books and into February -- did that make sense? -- and we're psyched that it's finally happening. Check the shows page for details, and we'll see you there. And I'm not saying there will be nudity before the show, but if there is it'll be three shows in a row and it'll be officially a trend. I'm just sayin'. ![]() Thanks to everyone who came out to the Deadtown show last night. We had a blast, equipment problems and crazy naked people notwithstanding. Not really what we meant by 'no cover.' Yeesh. Video exists, I'm told. But you really don't want to see it. Should have some details about the February Mooch & Burn show soon, and don't forget about the rescheduled SoundPony show, now happening at the end of February. We'll make it worth the wait. Sorry For It. Regarding our having to cancel this weekend's SoundPony show, I think Chandra put it best:
Yeah, we weren't too thrilled about it either. We've rescheduled the SoundPony show for February. Meanwhile, we'll try to make it up to you by rocking at least 200% as hard next weekend... (update 12.29.06) Math Lab is officially on 'winter break' - for about a week, that is, while we party like it's on sale for $19.99. Soon, though, it will be January, in which we have Two Big Shows Coming Up, so start warming up the car and check the SHOWS page for info. One show by ourselves, one show with our good friends GHOSTS. THINGS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN!! (Still a refreshing change of pace.) Meantime, some trippy old Winsor McCay animation to give you weird dreams. You're welcome. MATH LAB SHOW THIS WEEKEND! ![]() It's gonna be CRAZY so get there early. Check the shows page for details! Also got our first Sound Pony show booked in January. A few more probably coming soon after. THINGS ARE HAPPENING!! (Which is a nice change of pace.) This is apparently the first 6 minutes of the Tenacious D movie, and at least half of Math Lab is excited that it's coming out. Personally I think the part starting around 3:54 is worth the price of admission. This just in... our fine friends at DFest have a freshly redesigned site with pics and stuff from years past. In the media section on the main page there's a video you can pop up, and if you watch closely, about 2 minutes in, there's a great shot of Dennis ROCKING. THE. HELL. OUT. It's worth the wait. I'm only bummed it's not us you hear in that bit, but whaddya gonna do. Hey, whaddya know, the site went into hibernation again. Never shoulda let the singer be the web guy. Well, anyway, we're back, and should be here with some regularity again now. The EP is still awesome, and still available -- for download here on the site, or for purchase at a show -- and now even in a real store. Go see our friends at Tulsa's best new record shop, Under the Mooch (circa 14th & Harvard) and pick one up for yourself! They've got a ton of great stuff there too besides our record, so stick around and get some goodies. Tell 'em Math Lab sent you. In gig news, we've got one coming up in December with Stevedore and Elliott the Letter Ostrich, which promises to be a great time for all. Hit the SHOWS page for the scoop. More gigs & other goodies coming very soon. Stick around! FESTIVALS! We got yer festivals right here! We're honored and pleased to announce that MATH LAB will be performing at the 9th Annual TULSA OVERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL. It's the premiere event of its kind around here, and this year it's expanding to include a full-fledged music festival stage at the Admiral Twin drive-in -- which is where we come in. Exact line-up and times TBA, but the festival is September 8-10 and we're playing at the drive-in on Sunday the 10th. Then in October we'll be returning to the Cain's Ballroom for this year's Freaker's Ball. We had a blast last year and we're hoping for bigger & better this year too. More details on that to come. Meantime, mark your calendars for these two shows, and check out some new pictures here and on our MySpace page, or click the poster to the right for more on the TULSA OVERGROUND festival. Sorry about the recent hibernation. These things happen. Still plenty of copies of the EP left. Let us know if you want one, or come to a show and get one in person. Speaking of which, did I mention we're playing DFest?? Awww yeah. We've joined the bill for this year's incarnation of Tulsa's rapidly growing summer music festival. We're happy to be involved this year, and we'd love it if you'd come see us. Check the SHOWS page for the scoop, or click the banner to go to the official DFest site.
IT'S HERE! The EP is finished and ready for public consumption. Come get your copy and help us celebrate at the Deadtown Tavern May 6th. Check out the SHOWS page for more info as it comes in. We'll be joined by some swell gents called Delmer Veedle, who I believe are ALSO releasing a CD at this show. Should be a hell of a time, you know you don't want to miss it. |
